This book is an inspirational insight into the creative world of a very special couple, Bill and Jenny Clayden. In their retirement, they created a home full of exciting pieces of furniture and papier-mâché figures. With great skill and accomplishment, they created a wonderful range of items for their home. Let’s meet this remarkable couple and their journey to their dreams.
Bill was a founder member of our Fellowship. He modestly described himself as a Country Carpenter but, as this publication shows, he was a remarkably gifted and resourceful woodworker. Bill and his wife Jenny, a talented stage-set designer and papier-mâché artist, furnished their retirement home in the Isle of Wight with a host of beautiful artefacts.
The Fellowship is indebted to Bill for his co-operation and permission to photograph and record their life’s work in this publication.
In 2019 Bill Clayden was elected the first Fellow of the Southern Fellowship of Woodworkers. Bill was recognised as a Fellow for excellence in Collaboration, Commitment, Innovation, Leadership and Learning. All are evident in his fine woodworking.
